Cadillac history

August 22nd, 1902 Henry Leland formed the Cadillac Automobile Company in remnants of the Henry Ford Company (see Ford history). Henry Leland was actually brought in to help liquidate assets from the Henry Ford Company instead he ended up talking Ford’s financial backers into starting a new company and using Leland’s single-cylinder engine. Without Henry Leland’s efforts the automotive industry wouldn’t be where it was today.

Driving a car back and fro from work has shown us our dependence on it. Read on to find the humble beginnings of this everyday objects and its turbulent history.

There are many definitions of the car. Some said steam-powered coaches are cars and others, like Daimler-Benz (makers of Mercedes Benz) say that cars are light carriages for personal transport with three or four wheels, powered by a liquid-fueled internal combustion engine. Depending on your definition of a car, the automobile could have been invented by any number of people at any number of dates.

The Begining Of 19th Century in Car History

The history of automobiles is packed with fantastic inventions that led to the evolution of the modern car. Even though the first archetype of the modern automobile was credited to Karl Benz, in the year 1885, the very first self propelled vehicle was invented as early as 1769 by Nicolas Cugnot, who used steam engines to power the three wheeled vehicle.

From The First Cars In History To 1860

The evolution of cars down the ages has always been an interesting topic and has been filled with many startling facts. Although it is commonly believed that the first steam powered vehicle was built by Nicolas Cugnot in 1769, this is sometimes disputed by others, who put forward another theory that the first steam powered car was built as early as 1672 by Ferdinand Verbiest, a jesuit missionary in China. But very little information is available regarding this.
