Early Car History
The early car history before the year 1800 is short and not very accurate since there are not a lot of records from that time. Both of the mentioned cars were either not confirmed at all or there is doubt that they really worked:

1672 Ferdinand Verbiest builds the first steam powered car in history(not confirmed).

1769 Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot builds the first self-propelled wheeled automobile and drives around. It is not confirmed if the vehicle actually worked and that Cugnot really drove around.
